Temporary Works Design Engineer - NW UK
Cormac & Co Recruitment is looking for a Senior Temporary Works Engineer for a growing engineering consultancy with multiple offices across the UK. This role is perfect for someone with over five years of experience who’s keen to join a company that’s steadily expanding, handling practical projects and helping guide junior team members along the way.
As a Senior Engineer, you’ll be involved in both the technical and commercial sides of various projects. It’s a role for someone who enjoys seeing things through from start to finish—working on designs, managing client relationships, and making sure projects stay on track and within budget. The team works in a flexible, friendly environment where everyone gets hands-on with the work.
It’s a full-time position, 37.5 hours a week, with a flexible start time between 8:30 and 9:00 AM. The company has a practical approach to problem-solving and a strong sense of collaboration.
For this role, we’re looking for someone with an HNC, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, and at least seven years of experience in temporary works design. You should be either chartered or actively working towards chartership with ICE or IStructE. Leadership skills and a hands-on approach to mentoring are a must, as well as being comfortable working directly with clients and managing project details.
This company has been building its reputation in the industry, working on a variety of projects from infrastructure to historical renovations. They’re focused on steady growth and offer real opportunities to develop professionally—whether you’re working toward chartership or just want to sharpen your skills in temporary works design. The team is supportive, with regular workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions, and they put a big emphasis on work-life balance.
If you’re after a role where you can make a real impact without the corporate fluff, this could be the perfect next step for you.
