Senior Temporary Works Engineer - Engineering Consultancy - London

Role: Senior Temporary Works Engineer

Location: London

 

We are seeking a Senior Temporary Works Engineer in London, this role will suit candidates with 10 years plus post graduate experience, the role is a Senior position within the Temporary Works department reporting to the Lead Temporary Works Engineer. The ideal candidate will be capable of leading Temporary Works projects and providing support across a broad range of structural engineering projects. This role is client-facing and involves leading various projects, both as part of a team and independently.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage projects to clients’ requirements.

Undertake and supervise Temporary works designs covering a range of element: (full knowledge of all elements is not required)

 

Mobile crane assessments, retaining walls, basements, tower crane base (concrete and grillage), hoist base, façade retention, propping, temporary thrust blocks, piling platforms and haul roads, scaffolding checks, loading assessments on structures and excavation shafts/headings.

 

Experience undertaking AIPs, engineering surveys and writing structural reports.

Experience working on/near Network Rail sites and undertaking NR forms/approval.

Review Structural Engineering analysis and design to both Eurocodes and British Standards

Willingness to assist fellow engineers and offer support and guidance. Management/mentoring of junior staff.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in Temporary Works engineering, a minimum of 10 years post-graduation engineering experience.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
  • Expertise: Excellent knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, procedures, and structural principles, experience working with PAS 8811 a bonus.
  • Management: Experience in supervising work to ensure it adheres to technical standards, timelines, and budgets. A solid track record of involvement in a variety of Temporary Works projects, including in leadership roles with direct client interaction.
  • Proficiency: Excellent working knowledge of structural analysis software such as SCIA, TEKLA, or similar, along with Idea StatiCa.
